i'm will thomas. >> and i'm maureen umeh. tonight we have learned who the victim is and what she was doing when the car hit her and just took off. family members fear she may not survive. >> reporter: 25-year-old daniela was born in guatemala. most recently worked and lived about a block from where she was hit at 8:00 saturday night. struck just a few feet away from her boyfriend's home. >> i heard a thump and it sounded like a car hit another car. >> reporter: they are looking all they can to find a driver of what they believe was a small dark sedan, possibly a honda. they say the force of the impact caused some damage. and even a piece of evidence was left behind. >> it did leave the right-hand side exterior passenger mirror on the scene after it struck her. >> reporter: neighbors say this narrow stretch of carol avenue can be hazardous. many drivers ignore the speed limit we're told, even with a school just across the street.
>> i've seen the crossing guard almost get hit trying to cross the kids to school. so people don't go by the speed limit. >> it's a busy street. >> yes. >> you have to actually make sure you see what's coming. make sure you are out of harm's way before you get into your vehicle. >> reporter: family members were too upset to speak to us on camera tonight. but they did want to you see daniela's face. as they pray she somehow recovers, they also want the hit and run driver who put her in the hospital found. >> there is also the possibility that the driver of the vehicle and it's a possibility opal, could have been intoxicated and may not realize they hit anything at all. in y county. matt aklin, fox 5 news. >> they are looking for a dark colored sedan, maybe a honda. they believe the car could have some damage to the front headlight and maybe the hood even. >> the family of sarah haily fox says politics is getting in the way of justice.

federal transportation officials are now investigating. new controversy surrounding the abortion pill. opponents are considering using tele medicine to make it more available. a doctor could administer the pill to a woman after consultations via the internet. it makes getting an abortion too easy and poses a health risk because it does not include a face-to-face meeting. tele medicine is a growing trend for patients in areas with little access to doctors. federal former air force officials are taking the cloak off reported ufo sightings on u.s. military businesses. the group of former military commanders are set to reveal several alleged ufo sightings which they say shut down nuclear missiles. chavez got a preview of the accounts and some top secret documents that are now being released. >> they were seeing strange lights in the sky. >> reporter: robert salas worry aliens have their eyes on our nuclear weapons. the minute man launch officer remembers one morning early in

documents no longer a secret. for the first time, he and six former air force officers are talking. they want the air force to come clean. >> we were never debriefed after that. we were -- we were ordered not to ever talk about it. the air force has deliberately not told the truth about not only my incident, but maybe hundreds of others at military facilities. >> reporter: salas says it was a ufo with a message. >> i just think it was a message. 3-brought to us about the danger of nuclear weapons. other incidents were covered up. and it's high time the air force and the government opened up their files on ufos. >> reporter: in washington, rob chavez, fox 5 news. >> the group will present their findings tomorrow at the national press club.
well, we've had quite an interesting day today weather wise across the region. we've got some wet weather moving its way through across the area. we are going to take a look to see what's happening. but let's begin now with a look at the radar. we will show you exactly what is going on. because we've got plenty of it spreading its way across many of our areas. the rain showers are moving in from the south. and they are going to continue to do so. and even become more widespread as we move into the course of the evening. this frontal system will actually gradually push its way through. all of this will move its way through. we are talking about a risk of some thunderstorms as we head through across the area. can we take a look at max 2 and put it up? there we go. temperature wise 66 degrees in the district. 65 at dulles. 62 at baltimore. let's take a look at the radar then and show you exactly where all of the wet weather is. out here to the west. heavier spots near fort royal. and this will gradually fill
